Grace, mercy and peace through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hope is real.  It enters the world in the cries of the newborn baby in Bethlehem.

The irrepressible hope of Christmas pushes against the darkness that threatens to engulf the world.  Neither Herod’s bloody assault nor Pilate’s cowardly compliance with the crowd’s cry of “crucify!” can destroy or obscure this hope.

The angels’ message of peace resounds with the deepest longings of our hearts.  Its power is subversive, pushing through the presence of despair, overwhelming the strongholds of hopelessness.  Neither the crass materialism nor the violence that threatens it can push aside the joy and hope the season’s carols evoke from deep within.  

Our deepest longing for God’s presence is laid bare.  For all who are weary of this broken creation and cry with all our hearts for its redemption, for its restoration, for Eden to be ours again, welcome this child’s birth with joy and wholehearted wonder at God’s saving power!  Give your life to Christ’s ways and experience Christ’s life in your ways.
